"Katie Taylor, one of Ireland’s most celebrated boxers, retired after a final victory at Dublin’s Croke Park in front of 83,000 fans, according to BBC. The 40‑year‑old won her last bout against Flora Pili, capping a career that includes two‑weight undisputed world titles and an Olympic gold medal from London 2012. Taylor started her boxing career during the time when Ireland allowed only limited women's boxing activities so she needed to keep her name secret while she trained and participated in Ireland's first official women's boxing match which took place in 2001. The athlete transformed into a trailblazer who fought for Olympic women's boxing inclusion while she performed in front of Madison Square Garden audiences. The news outlet shows Taylor described her final night as a "dream ending to a dream career." The boxer has shown interest to stay in the sport but her current activities remain unknown. The retirement process serves as proof for young people that their determination enables them to achieve their objectives.
